Supporting Our Military Families

At Glen Cove Elementary, we take great pride in serving our military families. Our mission is to ensure a smooth, meaningful, and supportive educational experience for every child of those who serve our nation. We are honored to welcome your children to our Glen Cove community.

Our support for military-connected students and families includes:

• A Student Ambassador Program that helps new military families transition smoothly and feel connected to our school community.

• Schoolwide events and activities celebrating our military students, families, and veterans throughout the year.

• Recognition of Month of the Military Child (April) and Military Appreciation Month (May) with special events honoring our military families.

• An annual Veterans Day celebration, featuring a community breakfast to honor those who have served.

• Priority enrollment status for children of active-duty military families.

 The campus-based military liaison supports military-connected students and their families by:

• serving as the point of contact and working collaboratively between military connected students and their families and the campus

• maintaining familiarity with enrollment processes, records transfer, existing community resources, and student supports

• ensuring military-connected students are identified and properly coded through the Texas Student Data System Public Education Information Management System (TSDS PEIMS)

• determining campus-based supports and services available to military-connected students based on their unique needs, including their high mobility

• assisting in coordinating campus-based programs relevant to military-connected students

• attending professional development or training annually to learn and understand topics related to the transition of military-connected students and their families

• offering professional development opportunities for staff members on issues related to military-connected students

Glen Cove Honors Our Nation’s Veterans 🇺🇸

Glen Cove Elementary proudly celebrated and honored the service of our nation’s veterans. It was a beautiful morning filled with gratitude, smiles, and community spirit as our military families joined their students for a special Veterans Day celebration. Families enjoyed a fun-filled morning of Bingo, coffee, and pastries, sharing stories and laughter while recognizing the brave men and women who have served our country. Thank you to all our veterans and military families for your service, sacrifice, and dedication. You are an inspiration to our Glen Cove Stars! 🌟
